Our founding principles are designed to utilize the power of sport and work towards creating a safe environment in the Karoo where young boys and girls are forwarded the opportunity to develop essential life skills while showcasing and harnessing their sporting talent – through football.
At Dream Team Football Project our players will travel on a stimulating journey through a detailed football programme. One designed to create an environment and culture that will challenge, inspire and encourage the ambitions of aspiring young footballers and community members that go through our system.
Dream Team develops the players around The Four Corner Model which consist of four key components, Technical, Tactical, Physical and Psychological development. This model encourages us to look at the player as a whole (complete athlete) approach and ensure we are creating opportunities for them to be successful in life and football.
Our learning methods – through practical coaching, conditioning and video analysis will allow our staff to regularly provide clear and accurate feedback on all the elements associated to the player’s development and performance.
Dream Team emphasis the importance and relevance - striving to continuously develop and enhance our football programme via regular tours, tournaments and partnerships with football clubs, locally and abroad. This to ensure our players and staff are continually exposed to different ideas/concepts that are impacting world football and stay up to date with the latest technological advancements, rules and regulations.
To utilize the power of football and positive community role models to symbolically work towards creating a safe environment in the karoo where young boys and girls are afforded the opportunity and possibilities to develop essential life skills while showcasing and harnessing their sporting talents/gift.
To break the vicious cycle of poverty through football and education while helping to boost cultural exchanges between the different population groups in our area and greater karoo – South Africa.
The focus of Dream Team Football Project places significant emphasis on Academic Schooling of our players while they pursue their sports career.
With these development structures in place we will enable these players to have increased access to opportunities – become ambassadors in their respective communities.
The Dream Team will aim to play attractive, attacking football throughout our different age groups. All age groups will develop a style of play that is always based on possession of the ball and our teams will try to play from the back and through the thirds.
Developing players in a style that makes them competent in managing the ball under pressure.
Our aim is to produce players that can compete at the highest level.
At all times our teams will play from the back and through the thirds.
Defensively the teams will learn how to press effectively to win the ball back early and have the understanding of how to defend through each third of the pitch with individuals being competent defending in 1v1 situations relevant to their position.
Dream Team Project started in July 2024, after the Youth Championships for U11 & U13 during the June 2024 Youth Month celebrations as a development soccer outreach programme for boys with different backgrounds. Our Project boys ranging from 10 to 14 years old – our latest edition is now the girls 12 – 14 years old of which we currently have 45 boys who have joined the project from Beaufort West and Nelspoort area. Our affiliation with the Beaufort West Local Football Association is critical to our existence – we believe that with our partnership since 2018, it’s possible to develop our stars together on and off the field.
Our Dream Team Football Project will also be based on a co-educational centre for our players and learners from various schools in the community to gain educational support and to be educated by highly qualified teachers from schools in Beaufort West through the support structures.
We offer this centre to all our players and to whoever walks through our doors. At this centre we do all education based work, from Maths, English, Afrikaans to drama, music, arts and crafts – using football as our vehicle.
Our educational Support pillars:
WE CARE MATRIX
At the Education Centre players/participants receive a hot meal to make sure they getting the right vitamins to grow up and be healthy footballers. For some this is their only meal. If anyone has any donations, old teaching aids or things to help equip the centre that would be greatly appreciated. At the homework centre we work hard at improving the lives of our footballers by giving them guidance and a formulated structure to succeed in the field they desire.
